Basketball Game Preview: Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans vs. Oxford Prep Griffins + How To Watch

Kerr-Vance Academy hasn't had much luck against Oxford Prep recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Spartans will square off against the Griffins at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Kerr-Vance Academy is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Neuse Christian Academy on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Spartans took a blow against the Lions, falling 68-30. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.

He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Will Stovall was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Oxford Prep came up short against Durham School of the Arts on Wednesday and fell 54-41. The loss continues a trend for the Griffins in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Oxford Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Kerr-Vance Academy came up short against Oxford Prep in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 52-47. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
