Recap: Stillwater Pioneers vs. Broken Arrow Tigers

The Stillwater Pioneers lost against the Broken Arrow Tigers back in December of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Stillwater took a serious blow against Broken Arrow, falling 72-40. While losing is never fun, Stillwater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Broken Arrow is ranked 129th).

Leading Broken Arrow to victory were McKenzie Mathurin and Macy Marraccini. Mathurin scored 26 points, while Marraccini scored 17 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds. The game was Mathurin's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Taryn Jacobs, who scored ten points.

Stillwater's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Broken Arrow, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Stillwater will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bixby at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Broken Arrow and Seiling will round out the year against one another at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th at. Seiling is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
