Volleyball Recap: St. Petersburg Takes Down North Fort Myers in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and St. Petersburg had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the North Fort Myers Red Knights on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. This was payback for the Green Devils, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

St. Petersburg walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-18, 25-16.

St. Petersburg found their leader in sophomore Maeve Overcast, who had ten digs and three aces. Overcast is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

St. Petersburg is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for North Fort Myers, they dropped their record down to 16-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, St. Petersburg will be playing at home against Port Charlotte at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Fort Myers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
