Baseball Recap: Northern Adirondack Bobcats vs. Beekmantown Eagles
Northern Adirondack had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-5 to make it four. They came up short against the Beekmantown Eagles, falling 20-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 8-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
As for Beekmantown, they now have a winning record of 5-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Beekmantown's part, Sully Loughan made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Loughan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Beekmantown let Parker Broughton and Steven Bronson run wild. Broughton got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base, while Bronson went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. What's more, Broughton posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cal Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
