Basketball Recap: Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of four wins, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The game between them and the Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks didn't end well, with the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers falling 68-52.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Asmus, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points and three steals. Asmus' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jack Kehoe was another key player, putting up seven points and seven rebounds.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Dawson-Boyd, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta and Dawson-Boyd should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta will take on Melrose at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 172 places (89 vs. 261). Meanwhile, Dawson-Boyd (ranked 36th) will meet Lakeview (ranked 302nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
