Softball Recap: Robinson Maroons vs. Owen Valley Patriots

Robinson got themselves on the board against Owen Valley on Friday, but Owen Valley never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Patriots. Winning may never get old, but the Maroons sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Eva Herman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leighton Boyd, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Mallory Mosbey also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Robinson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owen Valley only managed three hits.
