Soccer Game Preview: Bellevue East vs. Burke

The Bellevue East Chieftains will head out to face off against the Burke Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Bellevue East is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Benson on Friday. The Chieftains fell just short of the Bunnies by a score of 1-0. Bellevue East have struggled against Benson recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Burke fell victim to Bryan and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 6-0.

Burke's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Bellevue East, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.

Bellevue East came out on top in a nail-biter against Burke in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
