Parklane Academy won against Bowling Green last Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Pioneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Buccaneers. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Aidan Nickles tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Collin Smith, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jax Toler was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win got Parklane Academy back to even at 8-8. As for Bowling Green, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
