League recap: Vallimont dominating on the mound for Mercyhurst Prep

District 10 Region 5 league recap: 5/22/13

Mercyhurst Prep's Chris Vallimont was the best pitcher in District 10 Region 5 this week. He won one game and struck out 12 batters.

Kyle Turner was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .818 average, one home run and six RBIs. Meanwhile, Seneca put together a 3-0 week.

North East's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 14 hits and six walks, both of which led the league.

The Lakers, the season leader in runs scored at 157, added to their total with a league-high 33 runs this week.

There were six hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was Kyle Turner, who hit .818 by going 9-for-11.

Ian Pertz, Zach Erb, Jesse Magee and Turner hit home runs this week.



Jake Wittman struck out ten in the Bobcats' 13-5 win over Youngsville on May 15. Over seven innings of work, he gave up ten hits and five runs.

Magee was an RBI machine on Wednesday, as he knocked in four runs during Seneca's 13-5 win over the Eagles. He went 3-for-3 and scored three runs.
