Basketball Recap: Natalie Warner Key Part of a Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Peoria Notre Dame, Batavia was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Wheaton North Falcons with a sharp 48-24 win. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Falcons are ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Batavia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Warner, who went 6 of 10 en route to 18 points along with five boards and four steals. Those 18 points gave Warner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hallie Crane, who posted 12 points and five steals.

Batavia's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 18.8 points. As for Wheaton North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.

Batavia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-39 win against Geneva on the 31st. Wheaton North has also already played their next match, a 48-37 victory against Wheaton-Warrenville South on the 31st.
