Baseball Game Preview: Amundsen Vikings vs. Lincoln Park Lions

For the second straight game, Amundsen will face off against Lincoln Park. The Vikings will take on the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Amundsen turned things around against Lincoln Park on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Lions.

The team relied heavily on Bennett Newman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Antonio Yanez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Amundsen's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-15. As for Lincoln Park, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-9.
