Volleyball Game Preview: Columbus Cardinals vs. Yoakum Bulldogs

Columbus is a perfect 10-0 against Yoakum since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cardinals will take on the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Columbus will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Columbus faced off against Tidehaven on Tuesday. The Cardinals blew past the Tigers 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-18, 25-12.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Yoakum and Edna had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cowboys on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Cowboys recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 33-4. As for Yoakum, the victory got them back to even at 15-15.

Everything went Columbus' way against Yoakum when the teams last played back in September, as Columbus made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
