Melrose-Mindoro is 8-2 against Whitehall since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will take on the Norse at 5:00 p.m. Melrose-Mindoro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Melrose-Mindoro will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Osseo-Fairchild on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Thunder a 10-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Thunder: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Bella Rozek, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Zeman, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Whitehall fell victim to Eleva-Strum and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 6-0. The Norse haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Regan Clatt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

Whitehall's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Melrose-Mindoro, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.

Everything went Melrose-Mindoro's way against Whitehall in their previous matchup back in April, as Melrose-Mindoro made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
