Softball Recap: Northside Sets Scoring Season-High Against Senn

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside). They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Senn Bulldogs on Monday. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Jilliyn Yung and Ashley Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Yung went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Rodriguez went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Yung a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Breving, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Northside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .583. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Northside moved to 4-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Senn, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside will face off against Lane Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Senn, they will challenge Von Steuben at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
