There's no place like home for Vardaman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let the Water Valley Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Monday. Considering the Rams have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Maggie Edmondson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Lyla Chandler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Vardaman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .792. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Water Valley only posted an OBP of .091.
Vardaman's win bumped their record up to 16-12-1. As for Water Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vardaman will take on Shannon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Water Valley, they will challenge Riverside at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
