Basketball Recap: Poland Seminary Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Poland Seminary won the last time they faced Hubbard and things went their way on Saturday too. The Poland Seminary Bulldogs came out on top against the Hubbard Eagles by a score of 51-39. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Eagles are ranked 619th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Hubbard lost, don't look at Jakob Hayes. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance also gave Hayes a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Dylan Bucher, who posted seven points.

Poland Seminary has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Hubbard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.
