Florida's Broward County produced more first-round NFL Draft picks than any state

Nick Bosa, Devin Bush Jr., Brian Burns, Marquise Brown, DeAndre Baker all hail from Sunshine State.

It's impressive when a state has four players selected in any round of the NFL Draft. What's virtually unheard of is when all four come from the same county.

Florida's Broward County saw four players taken in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and five overall from the Sunshine State including former Northwestern (Miami) standout DeAndre Baker, who was selected 30th overall by the New York Giants.

North Carolina and Texas were the only other states with at least three players selected in Thursday's first round. Since 2009, Florida leads the nation with 45 first-round selections.

Watch Nick Bosa, Devin Bush Jr., Brian Burns, and Marquise Brown dominating at the high school level.

The San Francisco 49ers took former St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) standout Nick Bosa with the No. 2 pick. The former 5-star defensive end from Ohio State was Aquinas' 18th player taken in the NFL Draft since 2009, which tops all other high schools.

Eight picks later, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded up to draft Devin Bush Jr. at 10. The former Michigan star was an absolute beast on Friday nights for Flanagan (Pembroke Pines, Fla.). He helped lead the Falcons to their first state title during his senior season and was the No. 11 inside linebacker on 247sports composite rankings from the Class of 2016.

The Carolina Panthers at No. 16 took Florida State's Brian Burns, a American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) product who was the No. 5 weak side defensive end from the Class of 2016 and a Top 50 player overall. Over his final two seasons at the Florida power, Burns had 135 tackles and 28 sacks. He also helped the Patriots win back-to-back state titles during his sophomore and junior seasons.

Former Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.) standout Marquise "Hollywood" Brown was the first wide receiver taken at No. 25 by the Ravens. He joins another big-time South Florida star — Lamar Jackson — in Baltimore and the pair will be must-watch television. There might not be a better story from the first round of the NFL Draft than Hollywood Brown. He had to play one season of JUCO ball at the College of the Canyons before going to Oklahoma. Brown had zero stars and zero offers. His older cousin, Antonio Brown, had a similar route coming out of Norland (Miami). He had one offer and no stars.
