Watauga had won nine straight games and Caroline Childers did her part to make it ten on Tuesday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Freedom Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory with plenty of help from Childers, who had 22 digs and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 17 times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Watauga took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-10, 25-9.

Despite the loss, Freedom still got an impressive performance from Josie Morgan, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Watauga's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Freedom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Watauga wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Foard on the 10th. As for Freedom, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against St. Stephens on the 11th.
