Baseball Recap: Truman Takes a Loss

Truman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blue Springs Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2019.

Truman saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nich Dawson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Anthony Manfredi was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Truman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Blue Springs, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Truman will square off against Nixa at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blue Springs, they will head out to face off against Fort Osage at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
