Basketball Recap: La Quinta Comes Up Short

La Quinta came up into this matchup off a tough 26-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Savanna Rebels by a score of 57-55 on Wednesday. The Aztecs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Savanna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damarian Wright, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. That's the most points Wright has posted since back in January. Mathys Rudel was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

La Quinta's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Savanna, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

La Quinta won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ocean View at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Savanna, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Corona del Mar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
