Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Leechburg). They were the clear victors by  a  17-4 margin over Ellis on Wednesday. Considering the Blue Devils have won six matchups by more than seven  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Trinity Kimble was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  a single  walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with five  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double.
 In other batting news, Leechburg got a  massive  performance out of  Danica Sopcak, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with four  stolen bases, four  runs,  and three  RBI. Sopcak has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Emily Talarico, who  went 3-for-4 with five  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double.
 Leechburg  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .636. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Leechburg is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record  this season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-4 Serra Catholic and 2-5 Ellis (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 24.6% over those games). As for Ellis,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leechburg will head out to  challenge Serra Catholic  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Ellis, they will take on Greensburg Central Catholic at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
