Basketball Recap: Coalfield Comes Up Short

Coalfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 57-42 fall against the Sunbright Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-35 last Saturday.

Coalfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Sunbright, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Coalfield will head out to take on Maryville Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Coalfield is facing Maryville Christian at the right time seeing as Maryville Christian is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sunbright, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Jellico at 6:30 p.m.
