Baseball Game Preview: Portland Highlanders vs. North Branford Thunderbirds

The Portland Highlanders will face off against the North Branford Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Portland has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while North Branford will come in with six straight victories.

Portland came up short against RHAM on Saturday, falling 9-1.

Portland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yandel Rivera, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Rivera has hit this season.

North Branford's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Portland, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
