Football Game Preview: Marlboro County Bulldogs vs. Aynor Blue Jackets

For the first time this season, Marlboro County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Aynor Blue Jackets will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aynor took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Marlboro County, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Marlboro County strolled past North Myrtle Beach with points to spare, taking the game 21-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Marlboro County found their leader in sophomore Tre Blakeney, who rushed for ten yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 175 yards and one touchdown.

Marlboro County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of James McLean and Bryson Moore.

Meanwhile, Aynor came up short against Conway last Friday and fell 32-23.

Marlboro County's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Aynor, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Marlboro County and Aynor were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but Marlboro County came up empty-handed after a 1-0 loss. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
