Recap: Arickaree Bison vs. Peetz Bulldogs
After a string of eight wins, the Arickaree Bison's's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Peetz by a score of 49-46. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Arickaree has scored all season.
Several Bison players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DILLON NOLETUBBY, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that NOLETUBBY pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of NICHOLAS HERMES, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
It was another big night for Noah Naegele, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds for Peetz. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Aiden Hill, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Arickaree's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-1. As for Peetz, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arickaree will face off against Hi-Plains at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Hi-Plains: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Arickaree has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season. Peetz will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Haxtun at 4:00 p.m. on January 12th. Haxtun is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
