Volleyball Recap: Royalmont Academy Classical Prep Comes Up Short on the Road Against CHESS Christian

Royalmont Academy Classical Prep kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the CHESS Christian Royals, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

While Royalmont Academy Classical Prep was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into CHESS Christian's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-6, 25-10.

CHESS Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lillian Hunley, who hit 90% for nine kills and 17 aces and one assist. Greta Miron was another key player, getting 15 assists and four aces.

CHESS Christian now has a winning record of 3-2.

Royalmont Academy Classical Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dominion Academy at 6:00 p.m. on September 4. As for CHESS Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Mars Hill Academy on the 22nd.
