The Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines will face off against the Wesleyan Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Prince Avenue Christian had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Hebron Christian put an end to it back in October. The Wolverines took a blow against the Lions, falling 43-6. The game marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
The losing side was boosted by Andrew Beard, who rushed for 93 yards and one score.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wesleyan had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Storm 48-7. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won four contests by 41 points or more so far this season.
Prince Avenue Christian better keep an eye on Maddox Gartland. He was instrumental in Wesleyan's win, rushing for 206 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Gartland a new career-high.
Wesleyan didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Providence Christian Academy to a completion percentage of just 43.8%. The Wolves have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.59 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.59 in their last three games.

Wesleyan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.7 points over those games. As for Prince Avenue Christian, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Prince Avenue Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 170.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wesleyan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 180.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Prince Avenue Christian took their victory against Wesleyan when the teams last played back in September of 2021 by a conclusive 35-10 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
