After flying high against Crisp County two weeks ago, Fitzgerald came back down to earth. The Purple Hurricane took a hard 21-3 fall against the Brooks County Trojans on Friday. The loss put an end to the Purple Hurricane's undefeated start to the season.

A big part of Brooks County's win came down to the chemistry between Junior Burrus and his top target Trae Stevenson. Burrus threw for 135 yards and one touchdown while Stevenson picked up 110 receiving yards and one TD. An impressive showing, but Stevenson really ramped things up playing D: he made four total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defended five passes. Marcus Hardwick made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fitzgerald fell to 2-1. As for Brooks County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
