Basketball Recap: Camelback Sets Scoring Season-High Against Alhambra

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Camelback). They came out on top against the Alhambra Lions by a score of 38-31 on Thursday. The Spartans didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Camelback's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyliana Massey, who posted 15 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Massey has scored at least a third of Camelback's points. Another player making a difference was Tameika Brady, who put up four points and seven rebounds.

Camelback was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Camelback's record now sits at 2-9. As for Alhambra, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Camelback didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 93-7 defeat against Campo Verde on the 27th. As for Alhambra, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on La Joya Community at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
