Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Elba

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Elba ultimately got the result they hoped for on Sunday. They skirted past the Pembroke Dragons 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lancers have posted since May 24, 2025.

Elba got a massive performance out of Brayden Jachimowicz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Jachimowicz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Caparco, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The win (which was Elba's third in a row) raised their record to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pembroke, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Coming up, Elba will be playing in front of their home fans against Alfred-Almond at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pembroke, they will head out to take on Alexander at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
