Baseball Game Preview: New Fairfield Rebels vs. Bunnell Bulldogs

New Fairfield has gone a perfect 10-0 against Bunnell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rebels will take on the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Sunday, New Fairfield didn't have quite enough to beat Newtown and fell 8-7. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nicolas Martini made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Bunnell fell victim to New Milford and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Wave. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Bunnell now has a losing record of 8-9. As for New Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

New Fairfield took their victory against Bunnell when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
