Volleyball Recap: Winnebago Lutheran Academy Comes Up Short

Winnebago Lutheran Academy lost against Valley Christian back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-15 in the first set.

Winnebago Lutheran Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-14, 15-10.

Jill Pinno paced Winnebago Lutheran Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Pinno got some help from Sam Unger and her ten assists. Hailey Wolf controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Valley Christian was led to victory by Bella Birr and Aubryn Lehman. Birr had three digs and two aces, while Lehman had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Birr has posted since back in September of 2024.

Winnebago Lutheran Academy dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Valley Christian, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Winnebago Lutheran Academy will face off against Kiel at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Valley Christian, they will square off against Deerfield at 5:20 p.m. on Friday.
