Softball Game Preview: Pine Forest Trojans vs. Triton Hawks

Pine Forest hasn't had much luck against Triton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trojans will take on the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Pine Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Pine Forest came up short against Triton and fell 8-4.

Mya Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Savannah Winstead and Jaelyn Green stepped up to the plate in a big way. Winstead scored two runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3, while Green got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Gracie Miller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Triton, bringing their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Pine Forest, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
