Baseball Recap: Erie Comes Up Short

Erie came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Holy Family, falling 10-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Erie has suffered since April 2, 2024.

Erie got a good showing from Easton Agnew, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Ronin Ward made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Erie's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Holy Family, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Erie will challenge Frederick at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Holy Family, they will square off against Broomfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
