Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Creek Christian Saints vs. Raines Vikings

Cedar Creek Christian hasn't had much luck against Raines recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Saints will head out on the road to take on the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cedar Creek Christian not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 12th. Everything went their way against Westside as they made off with a 19-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Saints.

Jordan Clements made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Gabriel Hutton was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in triples (two). Grayson Shelton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing six bases while going 3-for-3.

Raines played against Gadsden County on Saturday and won via forfeit.

The win snapped Raines' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-7 record. As for Cedar Creek Christian, their record now sits at 5-17.

Cedar Creek Christian might still be hurting after the 20-4 loss they got from Raines in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
