Football Recap: Paraclete Drops Highest Score of Season Against Woodrow Wilson

Paraclete had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 54-48 W over the Woodrow Wilson Bruins on Friday. The Spirits' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Joseph Mesa, who threw for 450 yards and seven TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 35 yards. Those 450 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Paraclete also got a significant boost from Kyle Fulton Jr, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 106 yards.

Despite the loss, Woodrow Wilson still got an impressive performance from Kori Scott, who rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Scott was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Jemel Grigsby, who gained 70 total yards and two touchdowns.

Paraclete is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Woodrow Wilson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Paraclete will take on Oaks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodrow Wilson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
