Volleyball Recap: West Valley Takes a Loss

West Valley managed to slip by San Jacinto the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Tigers on Wednesday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

West Valley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.

Diego Allievi paced West Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Allievi got some help from Carlvin Valdez and his 21 assists. Finally, Jamessen Lima kept West Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

West Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for San Jacinto, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Looking ahead, West Valley will face off against Temescal Canyon at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for San Jacinto, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Elsinore on the 11th.
