Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Willis). Their defense stepped up to hand the New Caney Eagles a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday. This was payback for the Wildkats, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Willis' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7-2. As for New Caney, they now have a losing record at 3-4-1.

Willis has already played their next contest (against Conroe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. New Caney will welcome Caney Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Caney's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
