Baseball Recap: Brooks Triumphs

Brooks's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Chicago Washington Patriots by a score of 11-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Brooks let Justin Slaughter and Adrian Ayala run wild. Slaughter got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Ayala went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Brooks is undefeated when Slaughter posts two or more runs, but 4-18 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelly West, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Brooks' victory bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Chicago Washington, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15.

Brooks will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
