Basketball Recap: Evan Pressley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blue Ridge Early College over Highlands

Blue Ridge Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. The match between them and the Highlands Highlanders didn't end well, with the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats falling 43-27. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 48-37 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Pressley, who posted eight points. Dakota Kinsey was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Blue Ridge Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Highlands, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-13.

Blue Ridge Early College has already played their next game, a 69-27 loss against Hayesville on the 29th. As for Highlands, they will host Nantahala at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nantahala knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Highlands likes a good challenge.
