Basketball Recap: Jellico's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Jellico had to endure a 19-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by the Oliver Springs Bobcats 42-41 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in December of 2024, they had to take a 64-58 loss.

Jellico found their leader in sophomore Kendall Osborn, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Lay, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Jellico's victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-20. As for Oliver Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Jellico will be playing at home against Wartburg Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Jellico has lost nine straight at home , while Wartburg Central has lost six on the road. Oliver Springs has already played their next contest (against Maryville Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
