Softball Recap: Moore County Has No Trouble Against Fayetteville

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Moore County brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Fayetteville Tigers on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kallie Ross was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ross was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Moore County got a massive performance out of Savannah Rose, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave Rose a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Whitney Fanning, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Moore County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Moore County moved to 11-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Fayetteville, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Moore County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Huntland on the 7th. Fayetteville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
