Baseball Recap: North Takes a Loss

North had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-13 to make it four. They lost 16-0 to the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 17-0 defeat on Thursday.

As for Bishop Carroll, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For Bishop Carroll's part, Holden Gorges got the start for Bishop Carroll and what a start it was: he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Bishop Carroll got a massive performance out of Jonah Mull, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The Golden Eagles are undefeated when Mull posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Judd Blasi, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bishop Carroll beat North by a score of 17-0 later that day.
