Basketball Game Preview: Glencoe Yellowjackets vs. Piedmont Bulldogs

Glencoe hasn't had much luck against Piedmont recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Glencoe Yellowjackets will host the Piedmont Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Piedmont took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Glencoe, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Glencoe earned a 74-65 victory over Pell City. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Panthers are ranked 302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Piedmont has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Anniston.

Piedmont's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Glencoe, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Glencoe might still be hurting after the 72-52 defeat they got from Piedmont in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Piedmont's Alex Odam, who posted 44 points. Now that Glencoe knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
