Softball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Harvey

Harvey had won five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 9-5 to make it six. They never let the Hazen Bison get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

As for Hazen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. They have struggled against Harvey recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

For Hazen's part, Ava Jungers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Jungers.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Harvey is set to take on their familiar foe Nedrose at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hazen will square off against rival Beulah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
