Basketball Recap: Lowry Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Lowry ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Churchill County Greenwave by a score of 59-52. The victory was some much needed relief for the Buckaroos as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lowry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaden Jimenez led the charge by going 5 for 10 en route to 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Byron Jimenez, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Churchill County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Barry Mitchell, who scored 16 points and eight rebounds. Calin Anderson was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Lowry's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Churchill County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowry will challenge Fernley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Churchill County, they will take on Dayton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
