Football Recap: St. Patrick Takes a Loss

After flying high against Christian Collegiate Academy last Friday, St. Patrick came back down to earth. The Fighting Irish were outmatched by the Sacred Heart Crusaders and fell 41-0. The loss continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost three in a row.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Kaden Murphy and Colter Garner both made on the match. Murphy picked up 45 receiving yards and one score while Garner threw for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes. Those 95 passing yards gave Garner a new career-high.

St. Patrick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sacred Heart, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

St. Patrick wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 42-8 loss against Amite School Center on the 12th. As for Sacred Heart, they have also already played their next contest, a 50-13 victory against Crystal Springs on the 12th.
