Game recap: Washington High School Football Team defeats University

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Washington (Miami, Fla.) beat University (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) 45-17 on the strength of a superb game by dual threat quarterback Treon Harris, who threw three touchdown passes while running for three more.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Harris to Mark Walton in the first quarter, the Tornadoes were up 21-3 at the half.

Washington expanded its lead to 19 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Harris touchdown run.

A 11-point fourth quarter solidified the win for the Miami school, as it pushed the final margin of victory to 28.



The Suns came in surrendering 11.4 points per game this season. University had a hard time against Washington's offense, who entered the game scoring 36.8 points per game. Washington came into the game allowing 8.2 points per game. University's 17 points were well below its season average of 36.4 per game.

The loss comes after University defeated Gulliver Prep 47-7 last week.
