Basketball Recap: Evergreen Comes Up Short

Evergreen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 61-51 to the Highline Pirates. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-41 back in December of 2024.

Corey Crosby was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 24 rebounds for Highline. The dominant performance also gave Crosby a new career-high in blocks (five). Another player making a difference was Jai'Lyn Chavers, who went 7 of 17 en route to 18 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Evergreen's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Highline, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evergreen will challenge Foster at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Highline, they will face off against Franklin Pierce at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
