West Mifflin entered their tilt with Ringgold on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Rams. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 on Monday.

Jake Martina tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Horne, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Braeden Andzelik was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

West Mifflin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ringgold, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

West Mifflin and Ringgold should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Titans will take on Laurel Highlands at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (118 vs. 336). Meanwhile, Ringgold (ranked 244th) will meet Uniontown (ranked 510th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
